An introductory lecture for the course, Michelangelo taught by Professor William E. Wallace, this presentation highlights the biography of the artist. Though at home in the community of local craftsmen, Michelangelo considered himself a kinsman to the ruling Medici family in Renaissance Florence. The mundane and sublime are juxtaposed through images of such artifacts as a stonecutting template used as a time-sheet for workers, and his great works of art and architecture.
